In Night City you can tell who runs a street before anyone opens their mouth. The Cyberpunk 2077 gangs are dressed as carefully as any character in the game: each crew has a colour, a silhouette and a relationship with chrome that tells you what it believes. That makes them a better style guide than most fashion magazines, and with Edgerunners 2 putting Maelstrom back on screen and update 2.5 bringing new cyberware to the game, a lot of people are picking a side again.
This guide takes seven crews and turns each one into an outfit you can wear outside the game. As always: NEOMACHI is an independent brand from Amsterdam, not affiliated with CD Projekt Red, and nothing here uses gang logos or in-game artwork. We translate the attitude, not the insignia.
The seven crews at a glance
| Crew | Turf | Their look in one line | Your hero piece |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tyger Claws | Japantown and Kabuki | Irezumi, katanas, bikes and neon | A tattoo-print jacket |
| Maelstrom | Northside, Watson | More metal than flesh, red optics | A cyborg graphic in black and red |
| Mox | Kabuki | Punk, pink and protective | A bold illustrated tee |
| Voodoo Boys | Pacifica | Quiet netrunners, nothing wasted | A dark, technical hoodie |
| 6th Street | Santo Domingo and Arroyo | Veterans in surplus | A parka and cargo trousers |
| Nomads | The Badlands | Dust, layers, workwear | A sherpa or windbreaker |
| Corpos | City Center | Sharp, cold, expensive | A premium bomber |
1. Tyger Claws: the Japanese street gang
The Tyger Claws are the most stylish crew in the game, and the one with the deepest roots. They run Japantown, ride fast bikes, carry blades and wear their membership on their skin in Japanese-style tattoos. The real-world reference is obvious: irezumi, the full-body tattoo tradition linked to Japanese outlaw culture, and the neon of Kabukichō in Tokyo.
You do not need the tattoos. A jacket covered in irezumi imagery does the same job and comes off at the end of the night. The IREZUMI jacket and the WABORI jacket (named after the traditional hand-poke method) are built for exactly this. Wear one open over a black tee with slim black trousers. For the biker version, the BAIKU hoodie puts a mecha samurai on a motorbike tearing through a neon city.
Before you wear the symbols, it is worth knowing what they mean. Tigers, dragons, koi and peonies all carry specific meanings in irezumi, explained in our irezumi guide. Tiger fans should also look at TORA and SAMURAITAIGĀ.
2. Maelstrom: chrome over everything
Maelstrom believe the body is a first draft. They replace as much of it as they can, wear metal plates where faces used to be and glow red in the dark. It is the most extreme look in Night City, and the crew Edgerunners 2 puts back in the spotlight through Talia Yang, a Corpo kid who chose chrome and violence instead.
In real life, Maelstrom is a colour rule: black and red, nothing else, with one graphic that is visibly part machine. The CYBORG hoodie (サイボーグ, the word for what she chose to become) and SAIBŌGU both carry the human-to-machine idea. KINZOKU, which simply means metal, is the quieter option. Add a heavy chain, red laces or a red light on a bag strap, and keep everything else black.
3. Mox: punk with a purpose
The Mox exist to protect the people nobody else protects, and they dress like it: bright hair, ripped fishnets, platform boots, pink against black, a lot of attitude. They are the loudest crew in the game and the one most rooted in real punk culture.
Translate it with one illustrated top and real punk basics. The JOOU woman's tee (the Queen of Hearts across two timelines) or the HAGESHĪ tee (a girl's inner tiger in deceptively soft colours) over fishnets, a short skirt or ripped jeans, with platform boots. One pink accent, hair or makeup, finishes it. For a jacket, the ROBO-MAIKO jacket with its robotic geisha suits the crew's Kabuki turf perfectly.
4. Voodoo Boys: the netrunners
The Voodoo Boys are Night City's most feared netrunners, a crew that cares more about what is beyond the Blackwall than what is on the street. Their look is restrained and practical: dark, close-fitting, nothing flashy, because their real work happens in the net.
Go tonal and technical. A dark hoodie with a digital graphic, slim joggers, good headphones. DARKNETRA, an AI who became something other than what she was designed to be, fits a crew obsessed with rogue intelligence. The KISEKI hoodie, with a neural spine mapped in neon green down the back, looks like a netrunner's wiring diagram. Pair either with the KISEKI joggers and stop there.
5. 6th Street: veterans in surplus
6th Street started as veterans who came home from war and decided to police their own neighbourhoods. They dress like it: military surplus, field jackets, heavy boots, a flag patch or two. It is the most practical style in the game and the easiest to wear on a cold commute.
Build it from technical outerwear. The BLLTPRF parka (防弾, bulletproof, across the back) with HIBIKI cargo pants and boots is the whole look. The SYSTEM 7 hoodie, inspired by industrial schematics and control interfaces, works as the mid-layer. Keep the colours olive, black and grey, and skip the flags.
6. Nomads: the Badlands look
Nomad clans like the Aldecaldos live outside the city in convoys, and their clothes are built for dust, heat and engines: worn layers, workwear, scarves, sturdy boots. Edgerunners 2 adds a new nomad to the canon in D, a Snake Nation netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan.
Think workwear with one cyberpunk detail. The NM sherpa jacket over one of our graphic cyberpunk t-shirts, straight trousers or cargos, boots and a scarf. For warmer layers on the move, the EVO windbreaker and EVO joggers make a set that looks good covered in road dust.
7. Corpos: the enemy everyone dresses like
Not a gang, but every gang exists in reaction to them. Arasaka and the other corporations dress in what the game calls Neomilitarism: clean lines, dark colours, perfect fit, security-contractor cool. It is the look V starts in if you pick the Corpo life path.
The premium bomber is the corporate uniform here. The SHINIGAMI premium bomber (the death god's kanji framed by spider lilies) or the LEAD premium bomber over a plain black tee and tailored trousers. We go deeper on this style in Cyberpunk 2077 inspired clothing, and the jackets guide helps you pick between a bomber, windbreaker and parka.
How to mix crews without looking like a costume
- One crew per outfit. Tyger Claws irezumi and Maelstrom chrome in the same look cancel each other out.
- One loud piece. The jacket or the hoodie carries the reference. Everything else stays plain. The logic is in our cyberpunk colour palette guide.
- Skip logos. Real gang insignia from the game are someone else's artwork. Symbols with real meaning (tigers, oni, kanji) say more anyway. Our Japanese symbols guide explains them.
- Dress for the weather. 6th Street and Nomad looks are the easiest in winter; Mox and Tyger Claws are best for a night out.
